MARAWI, Philippines – Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. is poised to serve another term after securing 171,528 votes, based on partial, partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Media Server as of 10:54 am on Tuesday, May 13.
Adiong first served as governor in 2007 and completed three consecutive terms until 2016. He then served one term as vice governor before returning to the province’s top post in 2019.
His son, Mohammad Khalid “Mujam” Raki-in Adiong, won his third and final term as vice governor.
Adiong ran under the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas–CMD), alongside his brother, Representative Ziaur-Rahman Alonto Adiong, and cousin, Yasser Alonto Balindong.
