MANILA, Philippines – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney joined members of the Filipino community and other Vancouver locals in mourning those killed after a man rammed a vehicle into a crowd at a street festival.
Carney paused his election campaign to travel to Vancouver on Sunday, April 27, a day after the deadly incident that occurred during the Filipino community’s Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party. At least 11 people were killed and two dozen others injured.

The suspect, a 30-year-old Vancouver resident identified as Kai-Ji Adam Lo, was arrested at the scene on Saturday evening, April 26. He has been charged with murder by British Columbia prosecutors.
In the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed grief over the “unspeakable tragedy,” and vowed support for the victims and their families. – Rappler.com
